Why do golf gloves wear out so quickly?

Does sweat ruin golf gloves?

Sweat is tough on premium leather. Moisture, salt and oils build up, and repeated wet-dry cycles slowly take away the soft, tacky feel you paid for. The longer a glove stays damp, the more time that moisture has to do its work. With The Oak, you don't have to find a place to dry your glove. Should you air-dry a golf glove?

Yes, always. A damp glove should dry naturally, away from direct heat like a dryer, car vent or dashboard. The key is airflow, and a zipped bag pocket has none. Should you leave your glove inside your golf bag?

How should you store a cabretta leather glove?

Dry first, store second. Cabretta leather is soft and thin, which is why it feels so good in your hands and why it deserves a little care. Let it air-dry by clipping to your bag during the round, and once it's dry after the round, smooth it back into shape and store it flat. Earnest Golf takes care of the hardest part. How long should a golf glove last?

Can rotating golf gloves help?

Yes. Switching between two gloves means neither one stays soaked for the whole round, and each gets more time to dry. It's a common move in hot, humid weather, and The Oak makes it effortless. We recommend using another glove while practicing on the range always, no matter if you're using an Earnest Golf glove or not. But, using two Oaks during your round, 1 for front 9 and 1 for back 9, will extend the lifespan of both drastically. 

What is Clip to Dry?

It's the idea behind every Oak golf glove. Instead of trapping a damp glove inside your bag, the built-in attachment point lets you clip it to the outside so air can reach it. It's a small change that makes good glove care automatic.
